Oct 11-12: Moosalamoo and Killington Too

Saturday, part 1 - Killington

Hike Killington then bike Pine Hill Park.

Saturday, part 2 - Pine Hill Park

Just finished the most fun MTB loop I've ever been on. Bermed turns are the bomb. Check out Pine Hill Park in Rutland, VT.

Albert Lew says, "If you like berms, Hinesberg needs to be on your list. NEK has some pretty awesome berms as well. And close to home don't forget the Russell Mill pump track. And there are some incredible bermed trails at Russell Mill outside of the pump track as well."

Sunday - Moosalamoo

Moosalamoo was pretty awesome. I  would have liked lower gear at times, but for most part SS MTB was excellent. Crashed hard near the end of the ride. Drowned my sorrows at Seven Barrel Brewery. Ribs still hurt almost 2 weeks later if I take a deep breath.

Crashed hard near the end of the ride.

Dulled my pains at Seven Barrel Brewery.

Tasting notes (right to left):
  • Queechee Cream Ale - bleh. only 14 IBUs
  • The Red #7 - bleh. medium bitterness too subtle for me.
  • Champion Reserve IPA - ok. 60 IBUs almost too bitter.
  • Oatmeal Stout - ok. 27 IBUs. hints of chocolate and coffee. tasted better after I ate some food.
  • Wet Hopped pale Ale - ok. tasted better before I ate some food.
  • ESB - ok. medium bitterness too subtle for me.
  • Conan the Destroyer Double Red - yummy. high gravity with mild bitterness and slightly sweet finish.
  • Poverty Lane Hard Cider - interesting. sour taste, like tart cherries.
