An overview of my Single Season Winter 48 with links to all the trip reports is here.

At the chimney. Didn't need a bypass, like on Osceola.

Summit. Yeah baby!

Beautiful day for a walk in the woods.
On the way down, I met Cesar and his dog Baxter (not Katahdin, doh!) heading up. He has some long hikes planned: Jefferson/Adams/Madison tomorrow; Galehead/Garfield/Franconia Ridge to Flume next Saturday.

Superb way to finish the first day of the new year. Pats 35, Fins 14.

The live texting with my family went something like this...
Me: Just got to Red Fox Bar & Grille. Missed 1min 30sec of game.
Me: Wow! Floyd looks like the real deal.
Me: Don't have audio here. What's the beef with Edelman and McClain? They've been jawing all game.
Me: Lewis looking shifty today.

Me: MacClain has a legitimate beef in that bogus PI call
Julie: Nah, he had his arm around Hogan and spun him around
Me: Suh still a jerk
Julie: Totally!
Me: Gostkowski misses again. Hope the post season doesn't rest on him making a FG.

Me: Crap! Is our first string D still out there? Doesn't look like it.
Julie: Woohoo! Go Jules!!
Me: Floyd is huge. Did you see that block?
Nick: Jules put the team on his back
Me: Blow out. G-pola in for the mop up
Me: If Jets score, Brady is coming back out.

I decided to limit myself to 1 beer per quarter and drink a pint of water between beers. In addition, I ate a sandwich during the first half of the game, and a pizza during the second half. I felt like I was going to pop by the time the game ended. Fortunately the walk back to The Bunkhouse helped my stomach recover from being stretched to its limit.

btw - 1 meal at Red Fox cost the same as 4 nights at the Bunkhouse

Meanwhile...

Julie and Nick celebrated the New Year with Bubba, Paul, Sam and Mabel by eating hot pot at Grammy's Kitchen. The sacrifices I have to make to achieve my goals.

From Julie: Yay! New Year's huku!😊❤

From Alexa: Hola from Patagonia! We just got back to a hostel after 4 days of camping and hiking the W circuit. We survived but are sore... will share pics once I have better wifi! We celebrated New Years with a 20 mi hike yesterday and then did our own ball drop with a bag full of headlamps.
